 bbyc_club_small.jpgSituated in popular Half Moon Bay Auckland, New Zealand, a marine suburb with a local population drawn to the area by the attractive water activities, the club is well placed to offer facilities for training and encouragement to young enthusiasts as well as experienced yachties and boaties.

Several international and Olympic sportsmen and women are members - among them Barbara and Bruce Kendall, Aaron McIntosh, Nick Burfoot and Joey Allen of Team NZ.

The ongoing investment in J24 Keelboats and as full-time Director of Coaching is giving young sailors the opportunity to advance their skills. With the intense focus on yachting during the Americas’ Cup, the club is poised to enjoy unprecedented interest in sailing and is ready for the challenge.

An Optimist Training School is teaching large numbers of youngsters the basic sailing skills. Advanced coaching in competition sailing has shown results in National Contests in competition sailing has shown results in National contests.

Membership is available and anyone with an interest in boats and boating is welcome to apply. Subscription rates are amongst the lowest in Auckland.


Club House Facilities

 The Club House is located on the North facing shoreline at Half Moon Bay, overlooking the club’s marina and the Tamaki Estuary.

There is ample parking and the Club House can accommodate several hundred people, catering for seminars, parties, weddings and other functions.

The club has three well-stocked bars and a bistro restaurant offering generous portions of quality food at very reasonable prices and is, of course, well patronised by members and their guests.

A library of nautical books is being established with generous donations from members. There is also a gaming room.

If you are keen on water and boating activities, belonging to a club is an ideal way to get involved in events. You can also enjoy the pleasant environment, meet new people and entertain your friends in one of the best clubs in New Zealand.
