POWER/LAUNCH
The Bucklands Beach Yacht Club power section is open to all members from 15 years upwards who have an interest in power boating, fishing, diving, and general Cruising events.
As opposed to the sailing section, members of the power section are less focused on competition and instead use their versatile
craft to enjoy a number of relaxing and enjoyable pursuits. Cruising is popular among our launch fleet. Half Moon Bay is the perfect location from which to explore the Hauraki Gulf area for those with access to the water, even more so in the company of friends. There are any number of fascinating and picturesque islands within easy reach such as Kawau, Waiheke and Great Barrier.
Often the power section join up with the sail cruising members to enjoy trips together. Boaties and yachties get on famously, we’re all friends here at Bucklands Beach Yacht Club! There is plenty to keep the interest of the keen fisherman, with deepwater game fishing, in-shore sport fishing and land-based fishing. If you have a passion for boats but don’t have sea legs, the love of the water
can be enjoyed by joining the model yacht enthusiasts. As with sailing, it’s a recreational pastime that can also have a competitive element.

Education talks provide relevant information for power boat and launch owners including youth training, Women in command and other associated programmes. The BBYC Marina will allow members access to both work berths and short and long term rentals of marina berths.
