WHY US?

Boats:
We have the perfect boat for you to learn to sail on.  The BBYC Sailing Academy has its own fleet of five modified J24 Keelboats.  J24’s are the best size boat to learn on and ours have been purposely modified for Learn to Sail.

Best Instructors:
We have a great team of Instructors at BBYC sailing academy.  Our Instructors are dedicated to giving you the best learn to sail experience available.  Our instructors are Yachting New Zealand qualified and have a huge amount of sailing and Coaching experience.

Instructor to Student Ratio:
On each boat we have four student and one instructor, this means you are an active part of the crew the whole time, as well as getting much more attention from the instructor.

Follow on Courses & Support:
Our goal is not only to teach you how to sail, but to get you regularly sailing and racing out of our club.  We offer a comprehensive training program, from learn to sail through to advance racing  and crew placement.
